Core Reading
This is one of the July 2025 sources where the geopolitical forecast and the metaphysical machinery fuse. The first move is concrete: NATO arms shipments resume, Trump gives Putin an ultimatum, and Israeli strikes on Iran are expected to restart. The second move is structural: America's Russia policy keeps strengthening the enemy it is supposed to weaken. The third move is the leap that gives the episode its heat: maybe Putin is not merely lucky or clever. Maybe he is being read, by himself or by the forces around him, as the world-historical figure who can control history. Source trail 0:001:2512:4333:45 Good morning, YouTube. Three Self-Defeats
Ukraine strategy, sanctions, and Nord Stream become three examples of American policy making Putin stronger.
The first self-defeat is Ukraine's strategy. Source trail 1:253:024:17 So today. I want to focus on the war in Ukraine. I want to talk about Putin specifically. From a Game Theory perspective, this war in Ukraine is very strange. Because American strategy, American policy, American tactics...Throughout Eastern Ukraine, and in about six months time, they're able to encircle Odessa. And if they capture Odessa, then the entire Eastern Ukraine region is now under Russian control. The problem, though, is that th... In the counterfactual, America does not intervene, Russia overruns territory, overextends, fails at logistics, loses morale, and becomes politically vulnerable. In the actual path, Ukraine fights for every inch and thereby plays to Russia's strength: defensive artillery warfare. The harder Ukraine fights this way, the more the Russian military is forced to adapt.
The reversal is brutal: Ukraine trains Russia. Drone warfare, flexibility, resilience, battlefield dominance - these are not just Russian achievements. In this reading, they are gifts created by the enemy's aggression. By the end of the first example, the military campaign no longer looks Ukrainian at all. It looks like something run from Brussels or Washington, and it has helped Ukraine lose. Source trail 4:175:35 And popular opinion turns against Putin. And now it's very hard for Putin to sustain this war. There's no strategy moving forward. The Russian people don't really see the point in this war. The Russians don't really see...is that by constantly being on the offensive by fighting for every inch of territory the Ukrainian military trained the Russian military on how to be a modern military capable of fighting a modern military campaign spec...
The second self-defeat is sanctions. If the Russian business elite had kept a Western exit, it could have become Putin's quiet opposition: sabotage, delay, private resistance. Targeted sanctions do the opposite. They tell the oligarchs that the West has no room for them, so the elite unifies around Putin. China is the contrast case. Broad pressure on the economy can create deadlock against Xi; targeted confiscation in Russia creates loyalty to Putin. Source trail 7:148:5210:02 Second example are these American sanctions against Russia, specifically targeting Russian business people with close ties to the Putin regime, which is basically every single business person in Russia. The counterfactu...And that's where they like to have their second homes. And we know this because of what's happening in China. So there is a trade war between the United States, the United States, China, and the U.S. But this is a gener...
The third self-defeat is Nord Stream. If Germany had slowly suffered from sanctions and energy prices, Germans might have blamed Putin. Once the pipeline is blown up, the blame shifts to America. That matters because the one force Jiang thinks can defeat Anglo-American empire is a Germany-Russia alliance. The explosion does not merely damage a pipeline. It releases the structural conditions for the empire's enemy coalition. Source trail 10:0211:2412:43 Now, these rumors are completely false. They're fabricated. But it shows you that he's not as powerful as people like to believe. So when it comes to China, it seems that American policy has been calculated in a way to...up, it's really caused the German economy, which was dependent on cheap Russian gas, it's caused the economy to crater. So the kind of factual is the Americans didn't do this. The Americans didn't blow up the North Stre...

Hypothesis, Not Certainty
The lecture names its uncertainty and turns the speculative model into a prediction test.
The paradox is stated plainly: when it comes to China, American policy looks calibrated; when it comes to Russia, it looks as if Putin has agents inside the imperial apparatus. That sentence is not the answer. It is the pressure that forces the lecture into hypothesis. Source trail 12:43 And that is an alliance between Germany and Russia. And that's ultimately what Putin wants. And so by blowing up the North Stream pipeline, America has basically unleashed these structural forces that will culminate in...
The three questions are where Putin came from, what he wants, and where this is going. The important editorial point is that the source does not pretend to prove them. Jiang says the questions are unanswerable and that the evidence is thin. Then he makes the methodological move: a hypothesis carries predictions inside it, and those predictions can later tell us whether the model is worth keeping. Source trail 14:1215:17 How is it that this nobody, this man who came from a lower middle class family in St. Petersburg, and he was an unknown entity for the first 30 years of his life, how did he suddenly become the most powerful man in Russ...But the good thing is that with any hypothesis, there is embedded in it a prediction model. So I'm going to explain to you the hypothesis. And then from the hypothesis, I'm going to conjecture certain predictions that t...

Stalin Returns
Putin's reported family biography becomes a mythic chain linking Lenin, Stalin, Orthodoxy, the KGB, and the second coming.
The biography is handled with caution: Putin says his grandfather, Spyridon, cooked for Lenin and Stalin, and that his mother secretly baptized him. Source trail 15:1716:2117:37 But the good thing is that with any hypothesis, there is embedded in it a prediction model. So I'm going to explain to you the hypothesis. And then from the hypothesis, I'm going to conjecture certain predictions that t...told the New York Times interview that his grandfather, Spyridon Putin, was the personal cook to both Vladimir Putin, sorry, Vladimir Lenin, as well as Joseph Stalin. That's the first detail I want to look at. Second de... Those details may be fabricated or embellished. But if taken seriously, the grandfather is not just a cook. He is a person with access to the most powerful men in the Soviet Union, a person who could do favors, save lives, and be known to the hidden elite.
The next move is religious. Spyridon is imagined as humble, selfless, Orthodox, and devoted to Stalin. World War II then becomes more than Soviet survival. The Orthodox Church can read it as holy war: Moscow as Third Rome against Nazi Germany as Antichrist. Stalin's wartime rapprochement with the Church makes him legible as a messiah figure, the redeemer who dies before completing the restoration. Source trail 18:4920:1021:34 He had no ambitions. And he was selfless. He was dedicated to his leaders, preparing good meals for his leaders. And that suggests to me that he was religious. And again, it was very common for Russians of his generatio...because of his rapprochement with the Orthodox Church starting with Lenin there was massive persecution of the Orthodox Church because Lenin Trotsky they were all atheist Marxist intellectuals who believed that it was O...
The death of Stalin is folded into Christian shape. Jesus had to die before redemption; Stalin dies before restoring the Byzantine Empire; therefore some hidden Orthodox and Soviet elites might wait for his return. Putin becomes the candidate: known to the network, nurtured through time, elevated after Yeltsin's collapse, and charged with finishing Stalin's unfinished mission. Source trail 22:5624:23 that he truly is Messiah because remember Jesus had to die before we could be redeemed and Jesus had to die before the world could truly believe in him and because he died there's now a promise that he would eventually...grandson it's possible this very precocious young man it is possible that he could be a second coming of Stalin okay and so this helps us understand and answer the second question which is how did Putin come into power...

Prophecy As Plan
The Third Rome prophecy becomes an operational map: Russia, Turkey, Constantinople, Odessa, and NATO collapse.
The mission is carried by a prophecy attributed to Paisios of Mount Athos: Russia and Turkey are destined for war; Russia defeats Turkey; Constantinople and Hagia Sophia return to Orthodoxy; the Orthodox world unifies around Russia. The startling line is Jiang's reaction. The prophecy does not sound like prophecy. It sounds like a plan. Source trail 24:2325:4527:15 grandson it's possible this very precocious young man it is possible that he could be a second coming of Stalin okay and so this helps us understand and answer the second question which is how did Putin come into power...this prophecy is attributed most famously to a Greek Orthodox monk named Passios of Mount Anthos there's controversy as to whether or not he actually said this prophecy but it's most commonly attributed to him and that'...
That plan becomes current events through Odessa. If Russia takes Odessa, Ukraine loses the coastline and the war's economic heart. NATO then makes its last stand there, turning the city into a death trap. The casualties do not merely matter militarily. They travel home as resentment, civil unrest, and political breakdown in France, Britain, Poland, Turkey. Source trail 28:4029:58 Because remember, there's always been a close relationship between Russian intelligence and the Orthodox Church. And And so, what's the plan? The plan is to cause a war between Russia and Turkey, which will allow Russia...Russia and Ukraine will become a welfare state for the European Union, and Putin is very happy to have that happen. This means that NATO will make its last stand in Odessa. Right now, a lot of preparations are being mad...
Russia does not need to beat every enemy in a clean battlefield sequence. It only has to draw the war out until enemy societies become unable to bear it. Turkey enters, Turkey implodes, and even Turkish citizens may invite Russia in. The religious ending is also the strategic ending: prophecy fulfilled, Constantinople recovered, Putin revealed as the messianic return of Stalin. Source trail 29:5831:09 Russia and Ukraine will become a welfare state for the European Union, and Putin is very happy to have that happen. This means that NATO will make its last stand in Odessa. Right now, a lot of preparations are being mad...And again, what's really important for us to understand is that Russia does not have to defeat Turkey on the battlefield. It doesn't even have to defeat France, or... It doesn't even have to defeat Britain. All Russia h...

The Ubermensch Mechanism
Putin's power is explained through a speculative metaphysics of Orthodoxy, Geist, the collective unconscious, and control of history.
The question now changes from what Putin wants to how he could do it. Hegel would call him a world-historical figure. Nietzsche would call him the Ubermensch, the overman. The definition matters: this is the person who steps outside history, controls history, and changes the course of human events. Source trail 32:2233:45 The best evidence for this is, again, the biographic detail that Putin revealed to journalists, that his mother was a devout Christian who baptized Putin secretly. This detail is important because it's a dog whistle to...How is Putin able to be able to control history? Like this. Friedrich Hegel would call Putin the world historical figure. And Friedrich Nietzsche would call Putin the Ubermans. The Superman. The Overman. The man who is...
The mechanism is explicitly speculative. Orthodox Christianity sees Western civilization as Antichrist because the West's three pillars - liberalism, science, capitalism - detach humanity from faith, God, and tradition. The West is richer, larger, more technologically advanced. But the Orthodox believer thinks God is with them, and that the stronger civilization may still be spiritually blind. Source trail 33:4535:03 How is Putin able to be able to control history? Like this. Friedrich Hegel would call Putin the world historical figure. And Friedrich Nietzsche would call Putin the Ubermans. The Superman. The Overman. The man who is...Science is the rejection of God and the worship of the material world. Capitalism is pure greed, pure selfishness. So, for Orthodox Christians, Western civilization means rejection of God, of faith, of tradition, which...
God is then translated into the language of Hegel and Jung: Geist, collective unconscious, an underlying consciousness to the universe. If such a force exists, and if faith makes communication with it possible, then mystical traditions may act through it. That is the speculative bridge from Orthodox mysticism to battlefield power: Putin wins because his side is aligned with a force the materialist West denies. Source trail 36:3337:50 And God is planning on the destruction of the Western civilization. And the Orthodox Christians are only the tool of God to achieve this. If you look at current events, then there's a lot of justification for this. But,...The problem with Western civilization is, it denies the existence of God. It denies the existence of this Collective Unconscious because of its embrace of materialism. And as a result, it's lost its connection with this...

Three Tests
The wild hypothesis is given three dated tests: Odessa, China, Iran.
The whole hypothesis is restated as a secret Stalin-era nexus between the Orthodox Church and the KGB, waiting for Stalin's return and finally settling on Putin. Source trail 39:04 The hypothesis is that during the time of Stalin, a secret nexus of power between the Orthodox Church and the KGB came into being and they were determined to achieve the Third Rome Prophecy and restore the Byzantine Emp... Ukraine gives that nexus the chance to destroy Western civilization, create Third Rome, and restore the Byzantine Empire. But the model has to leave evidence in the world.
The first test is Odessa: the war shifts there and becomes the final catastrophic struggle between NATO and Russia. The second test is a Russia-China rupture, because a God-centered Russian civilization should ultimately despise a proudly atheist, communist, materialist China. The third test is Iran: Russia defends it not only for geopolitics but because, in this cosmology, Russia and Iran are both trying to bring God back to humanity. Source trail 39:0440:1041:27 The hypothesis is that during the time of Stalin, a secret nexus of power between the Orthodox Church and the KGB came into being and they were determined to achieve the Third Rome Prophecy and restore the Byzantine Emp...That's where the final battle between NATO and Russia will take place. Turkey will be brought into this war. Once Turkey enters this war, it will become extremely unpopular within Turkey, which will lead to the implosio...

Change The Model
The closing insists that prediction is the discipline that keeps the model from becoming dogma.
The final minutes matter because they keep the episode from becoming mere apocalyptic certainty. Jiang says the next video will connect the pieces and forecast the next five to ten years. Then he names the public method: build theories and hypotheses, attach predictions, and revise the analytical model when predictions fail. Source trail 42:4444:06 all the desperate pieces together and try to predict what will happen around the world in the next five to ten years. Quick announcement, I'm taking a break next week.
