The Theory of Everything Is a War of Perception

Secret History #9: The Theory of Everything

A source-grounded reading of Jiang's attack on the scientific worldview: Big Bang, evolution, neuroscience, school, and transhumanism become parts of one material story that forgets divinity, fears death, and lets power reinvent reality.

The lecture begins by compressing modern science into three axioms: random, material, emergent. Then it breaks them. Dark energy becomes a magic patch for a broken Big Bang; evolution cannot explain the human rupture; neuroscience cannot explain personality, consciousness, or memory; school teaches a process that destroys creativity because the idea comes before the method. Against that, Jiang builds a participatory universe: great books, dreams, near-death experiences, psychedelics, Kant, Hegel, and quantum mechanics all point toward reality as vibration, information, and spirit. Humans exist because perfection cannot imagine; love returns to the Monad; death is release; hell is the storage place of hate. The political consequence is harsh: power needs people to fear death and worship material reality, so science becomes a tool for reinventing reality. The final war is not over resources. It is over perception.

Core Reading

The theory of everything starts as the school story: the Big Bang creates matter, evolution creates humans, neuroscience creates identity, and all of it is random, material, and emergent Source trail 4:145:27 personality so this is all a science knows I mean this is pretty simple but this is what science tells us about where we came from who we are where are we going now there are three distinct characteristics about the sci...is emergent emergent which is basically means bottom up you have like these particles they become atoms then the atoms become matter they become stuff and then we become chairs or people okay there's all emergent and so... . The lecture's answer is that this story is not complete enough to be reality. Dark energy is a cheat added to the equation. Human beings do not fit gradual evolution. Babies arrive with personalities before the world has had time to write them. Great ideas do not come from procedure; they arrive like transmissions. From there the lecture turns into a cosmology of reception: books are portals Source trail 22:22 that's why if you have been with me for a long, long time, 10 years, you will know I've never taught the same class ever. Random, Material, Emergent

The lecture reconstructs the school cosmology and then starts breaking it at its three foundations.

The official story is clean because it moves in a line. Source trail 0:001:383:04 Good morning class. Today we do the theory of everything. So very quickly, I will explain to you what science tells us about where we came from, who we are, and where we're going. So as you may know, it all started with...Okay, and this idea of the survival of the fittest, introduced to us by Charles Darwin. Okay, and that's how we came to dominate the planet, because we are the fittest, because we're able to work together, because we ha... First comes the Big Bang. Matter expands into stars, planets, black holes, and earth. Life evolves from plants and sea life into animals and finally humans. Human superiority comes through language, cooperation, stored knowledge, and accumulated technology. The brain filters experience into memory; memory becomes identity; identities combine into worldview and personality.

Then the line is named as ideology. The scientific worldview says reality is random, not designed; material, not spiritual; emergent, not top-down Source trail 4:145:27 personality so this is all a science knows I mean this is pretty simple but this is what science tells us about where we came from who we are where are we going now there are three distinct characteristics about the sci...is emergent emergent which is basically means bottom up you have like these particles they become atoms then the atoms become matter they become stuff and then we become chairs or people okay there's all emergent and so... . Particles become atoms, atoms become matter, matter becomes people. Jiang's move is to treat those premises not as neutral facts but as the story modern people were taught to inhabit.

The first crack is cosmology. If the universe expanded from one Big Bang, Jiang says, the expansion should be cleaner than what astronomers observe. Dark energy then appears as the patch: no one knows what it is, but it must exist because otherwise the model breaks. The classroom analogy is brutal. A student gives the wrong answer to a math problem, adds dark energy, and declares the problem solved Source trail 8:04 OK, that's obviously wrong, right? So your teacher says, this is wrong. And then you say, oh, I know how to fix this, plus dark energy. Problem solved. This is like literally what cosmologists are doing with dark energy... .

The second crack is evolution. Source trail 8:049:1610:31 OK, that's obviously wrong, right? So your teacher says, this is wrong. And then you say, oh, I know how to fix this, plus dark energy. Problem solved. This is like literally what cosmologists are doing with dark energy...So our current system of understanding the universe simply does not work. And the problem is, well, why are there multiple Big Bangs? The problem is that it's become a paradigm, a story that is accepted by most scientis... Jiang does not deny that evolution works for animals. He says the human case is the problem. The gap between ape and human is too large, the missing stretch of human time is too strange, and the lack of human species diversity does not fit the gradual model. Science becomes a paradigm that refuses to budge because it has no better model ready.

10:31-26:54

The Idea Comes First

The mind does not behave like school says it does: personality, memory, creativity, and discovery point toward reception rather than procedure.

The real problem is the human mind. If worldview filters memory, how do babies filter anything before they have a worldview? Why do children arrive with distinct personalities Source trail 13:03 OK? The other thing is that I have three kids, and I can tell you that they're all distinct personalities. It seems as though they were born with a worldview. And then the question then is, where does this come from? Yo... ? Where does personality come from if it is not simply a mixture of the parents? Neuroscience can name synapses and brain regions, but Jiang says it cannot explain consciousness or even locate memory without finally saying, in effect, that the whole brain stores it.

School gives the mind a process: research, hypothesis, experiment, data, outline, thesis, draft, revision. Jiang reverses the arrow. The great idea does not come at the end of the process. The final product comes first Source trail 16:5118:02 then you write it out write a draft you edit it and you repeat the process okay this is what you're taught in school okay I'm gonna say something that shocks that they'll shock you okay this is what you're taught in sch...at every major scientific discovery it all came to the person in a dream or when he was or it sort of popped into that person's head okay it's just think of a light bulb light bulb popping up okay so example is Albert E... , then the person works backward to create the evidence, outline, draft, and explanation. Einstein daydreams; Watson dreams a staircase; the method is what makes inspiration legible afterward.

That is why his own writing and teaching matter as evidence. He describes lying around, walking, daydreaming, and then suddenly receiving pages of ideas. His wife says he works as if possessed. Teaching works the same way: he carries a framework, reads the class, and receives the articulation in real time. The point is not laziness. It is that creativity is reception Source trail 20:2521:17 I don't do that. What I do is, I lie in bed, and I might play some video games or I might read a book. I get up, I walk to the park, and I come back and I have all these ideas. And I write down all these ideas over one...My wife tells me that when I write or when I work, it's like I'm possessed. I'm possessed by something, okay? Meaning like, I don't see anything, and I really don't know what other people are doing, because I don't care... .

A great book is placed in the same category. It is not decoration or homework; it is a portal into the universe Source trail 22:22 that's why if you have been with me for a long, long time, 10 years, you will know I've never taught the same class ever. You can go on YouTube and watch all my videos. I teach this class different each time. Because ea... . The scientific method still has a use, as a student points out: it helps present inspired ideas to other people. Jiang agrees. But presentation is not origin. Origin comes through imagination, intuition, dream, and what he calls channeling the divine. Near-death experiences then become the next evidence: people return from death with light, life review, love, forgiveness, and a changed life.

26:55-40:59

Reality Needs a Participant

Near-death testimony, psychedelics, great books, Kant, Hegel, and quantum mechanics are made to converge on one claim: reality is participatory.

Near-death experiences are not alone. Source trail 26:5527:5729:0930:25 It's all good. And then they submit to a life review. They have a chance to reflect on their entire life. They can see all the pain they caused. They can see all the good they've done in the world. And then they're aske...culture has used psychedelics, because psychedelics were a way for, or shamans or priests to access the divine. And what's really interesting is when you use a certain type of psychedelic, you end up seeing the same ima... Psychedelics, meditation, ancient serpent imagery, Dante, Milton, and Homer all become evidence that different routes touch the same higher force. The cosmic serpent matters because cultures far apart see similar images. Dante matters because the Divine Comedy can look like a near-death report even when there is no evidence Dante had one. The lecture is not trying to prove the spirit world in a laboratory. It is accumulating convergences.

Kant supplies the philosophical door. We never see reality in itself. We see reality filtered through time and space, which means we hallucinate the world into phenomena. But that creates a problem: why do our private hallucinations agree? Hegel supplies Jiang's answer. The noumenal source is Geist, the spirit world. We share a world because the filters come from one source. Source trail 32:39 So why is that? So these are the three problems. And so what happens is that Hegel comes up with the idea that reality is a subjective experience. Hegel comes up along, okay? Hegel, another German philosopher, and he ex...

Quantum mechanics then becomes the physical analogy. The atom is not ultimately a little solid thing. At depth, matter is vibration, fields, wave and particle. Observation is not passive looking; it collapses possibility into what can be touched and measured. Schrodinger's cat and Wigner's friend push the point further: the box has to be opened by the participant. Someone else's report does not collapse your world for you. Source trail 36:0037:14 And what Strödinger teaches us is that when the box is unopened, we can never know the state of the cat. It's only when we open it, can we know it's dead or alive. But before then, it's both dead and alive, okay? That's...We have to open the box ourselves in order to see if the cat is alive or dead, okay? But what if this person tells us? The answer is, it still doesn't collapse. We have to participate in the reality ourselves. And what...

The student objection is the obvious one: quantum mechanics is quantum; humans are macro creatures. Jiang accepts the distinction but refuses the wall. Quantum mechanics is still the basis of reality. If everything is vibration, it is also information. The brain receives the universe, combines vibration with experience into memory, and sends memory back as an imprint. Source trail 38:30 Okay? So everything are just vibrations. Now what happens is that, what we need to understand is that if it's vibrations, if it's energy, it's also information, okay? Does that make sense? All right? So what our brains,... The internet analogy is exact in structure: you write into it, it stores you, and you receive from it.

40:59-49:28

Perfection Cannot Imagine

The participatory model becomes a Dantean cosmology of Monad, imagination, free will, love, death, hell, pearls, and mirrors.

Because the model is hard, Jiang turns it into story, using Dante. The Monad is the source of everything. It vibrates, breathes, emanates, and creates lower dimensions until spirit slows enough to become matter. The universe wants newness, imagination, freshness. But the spirit world is perfect, eternal, and immutable. It cannot suffer, err, or be surprised. Therefore it cannot imagine. Source trail 42:16 spirit world everything is perfect everything is eternal everything is immutable and so by definition you can feel no pain you cannot suffer you cannot make any mistakes therefore you cannot you cannot have any new expe...

Humans solve the problem by having bodies. Bodies age, bleed, hurt, hate, fall down, and choose. Free will lets the universe have real imagination Source trail 43:28 the principle of free will well free will this system cannot work if if you are if you do what you're supposed to do you can't have imagination okay so you have to disobey you have to make your own choices you have to m... because obedience alone would produce no novelty. Love is the compass: the spark of the Monad inside the person, the magnet that draws the person back toward the source. Good feels good because the spark grows.

Death is not the enemy in this structure. Death is release. Source trail 44:37 good because it makes us feel good and allows us to return to the monad um but sometimes because we live in a world of free will we make mistakes okay we might hurt someone or we might be or we might traumatize someone... It interrupts the loop of error, returns the person to the universe, and makes life review possible: all the pain caused, all the good done, all the wisdom missed while alive. Hate goes somewhere else. It cannot return to the perfect spirit world, so it creates lower dimensions. That is hell. Source trail 45:35 and again you can make the same mistakes over and over but you can also improve okay now the other thing to remember about the system is that it's always whether create love or hate now love goes back to the monad but w...

The images are Hindu pearls and Dantean mirrors. In Indra's house, every pearl reflects every other pearl, so one brightening spark brightens the whole field Source trail 46:54 from Hinduism and one from Dante okay so in Hinduism there's a metaphor that's very powerful and the metaphor is that in the house of the God Indra Indra is one of the most powerful gods of India there's all these pearl... . In Dante, God is the candle and humans are mirrors. However far away the mirror is, the flame still burns inside it. The divine mission is to expand the consciousness of the universe by love and imagination. The Machine Wants Death to Be Terrifying

The cosmology becomes political: power needs people to forget God, fear death, worship matter, and coordinate through inverted religion.

If early religions knew the spiritual model, the next question is how people forgot it. Jiang's answer is heaven, earth, and hell. Heaven is spiritual consciousness; hell is mechanical machine. Humans stand between them and choose. Those who choose hell gain technology, and technology lets them conquer and control. But control requires obedience, and obedience requires fear of death Lens point dead-world-cave Death fear enforces the dead world when power teaches people that material life is the only real world, the spiritual world is false, and death is the worst possible loss; obedience then becomes rational because the machine appears to be protecting life itself. Science now gets its political function. The power mechanism is secret society inside bureaucracy. Bureaucrats are lazy; secret societies can coordinate. But secrecy needs glue. Religion or eschatology then becomes a script that lets people coordinate without meeting openly. Lens point eschatology-script Eschatology becomes a script when an end-times story answers origin, purpose, and destination while assigning roles people can inhabit; action then feels like participation in a story already moving toward its end. That script is inverted because the actors know they are doing evil. They cannot return to God without judgment, so they imagine a superior power who justifies transgression: Satan. The system has unity, polarity, and as-above-so-below reflection. The world is inverted by making people worship the material: money, power, technology, science. God, religion, compassion, and love are stripped away. The lecture names the present as a war between heaven and hell in which power must make hell into heaven and heaven into hell Lens point eschatology-script Eschatology becomes an inversion war when power tries to make hell feel like heaven by training people to worship material survival, fear death, abandon the spiritual world, and experience captivity as realism. The War Is Over Perception

The student questions force Jiang to clarify God, Satan, intervention, belief, science, charisma, flood, and why the heaven/hell model still matters if it is metaphorical.

The first student question presses the obvious problem: if Satan accumulates power and God does not interfere, why would God do nothing? Jiang answers through free will. God and Satan cannot intervene directly. The test is human: only when darkness becomes complete can the human light fully shine Lens point free-will-burden In Jiang's free-will model, divine love does not solve evil by direct takeover. God trusts humans enough to let darkness become a test; one person's chosen light can then reflect outward through the whole field. free-will-burden Free will becomes a cosmic burden when choice is not mere preference but participation in reality: people can choose the familiar lie, desire hell, refuse intervention, or shine in darkness in a way that changes the field for others. Source trail 59:481:01:03 rebuedle or something yeah okay great great so um first thing to remember is that because of the principle of free will God and Satan cannot interfere in this world okay secondly we have to remember like there are diffe...shine okay does that make sense all right so only in the time of darkness can the light truly shine and remember when someone shines that light that light is reflected in everyone else so everyone's light shines as well... . When one person shines, the light reflects into everyone else.

The second student question asks whether God and Satan are real or two worlds, positive and negative. Jiang's answer is participatory: everything is vibration, and belief helps create reality Source trail 1:02:00 okay that's that's a really good question okay so what all the saying is this okay in reality literally everything is vibrations all right how these vibrations work right no one knows but it's always vibrational so what... . If everyone believes God exists, God exists; if everyone believes sin exists, sin exists. That is why the war is not over resources. It is over perception. That makes space travel a symbolic weapon. If the moon and Mars once belonged to heaven, putting people there can make heaven look empty. A fake alien invasion could do the same thing with Satan. The line is severe: science is not about discovering reality; it is about reinventing reality in a way that serves power Source trail 1:03:01 But once I put man on the moon and on Mars and go beyond, I've proven heaven doesn't exist. I've destroyed God. I can also fake an alien invasion and pretend these aliens are Satan, okay? All science, you don't know thi... .

The final student question asks whether a person can manipulate belief so completely that others make him into God or Satan. Source trail 1:03:351:04:07 So, is there people who, like, they don't believe in Satan or God, they choose to let others believe in them, and, like, they're making themselves into a god. Does it work? Like, because if you believe God, then God exi...Okay, that's a good question, and the answer is no. Historically, what's happened is, that a charismatic leader has emerged to say that I am God's representative, okay? Why? Because we believe we're all equal, right? Yo... Jiang says no, not directly. Historically, charismatic rulers claim to be God's representative or descendant, not God itself. The claim has to pass through channeling, descent, or representation because people still assume human equality.

The close is the semester frame. If people believe God is dead, the material world is real, the spiritual world is a lie, and death is the worst thing, then hell has won. But the cosmos is interconnected, so hell cannot win permanently. Suffering makes the earth itself rebel; flood resets the world; humanity renews. Lens point eschatology-script Eschatology becomes cosmic fail-safe when suffering, evil, and material hell trigger a larger reset: the earth rebels, the world floods, humanity renews, and hell is denied final victory even when it wins locally. Source trail 1:05:12 If I can convince you that, you know, I'm dead, right? If I can convince you that the material world is real, the spiritual world is a lie. Questions

I thought quantum mechanics can only be applied on the quantum level. We are macro creatures, right?

Jiang accepts the scale objection but says quantum mechanics is still the basis of reality. Source trail 38:1338:3039:48 I thought like quantum mechanics can only be applied on quantum, whereas quantum mechanics, we are a macro creature that is not like - Yeah, that is correct. But quantum mechanics is the basis of reality, right?Okay? So everything are just vibrations. Now what happens is that, what we need to understand is that if it's vibrations, if it's energy, it's also information, okay? Does that make sense? All right? So what our brains,... The point is not that human beings are tiny particles. The point is that if reality at base is vibration, then vibration is also information, and the brain participates in that informational field by receiving, forming, and imprinting memories.

If God and Satan do not interfere in our world, why would God do nothing if Satan's power grows beyond God?

The answer is free will. God and Satan cannot intervene directly in the world, because direct interference would cancel the human test. Jiang says God trusts humans completely. Only in complete darkness can humans fully shine, and when one person shines, that light reflects into everyone else.

Are God and Satan real, or are they two worlds, one positive and one negative?

Jiang answers through participation rather than literalism. Source trail 1:01:411:02:001:03:01 like it is there a really a god or a satan but uh like uh there's a god for all of it and this is uh a god for all of the bad things or it's just two two worlds which is one positive one negativeokay that's that's a really good question okay so what all the saying is this okay in reality literally everything is vibrations all right how these vibrations work right no one knows but it's always vibrational so what... Everything is vibrational, and humans participate in the universe. If everyone believes God exists, God exists; if everyone believes sin exists, sin exists. That is why the fight is over perception: the winning side is the side that teaches people what reality is.

If people can make God exist by believing, can someone make everyone believe in him and become a god or Satan?

No, not directly. Jiang says historical rulers and charismatic leaders usually claim to be God's representative, God's channel, or descended from God, not God itself. Yo... The divine claim needs mediation because people still assume equality: one person cannot simply declare himself God and make the claim stick.
