## Thesis

The lecture starts by attacking the evolutionary story most students inherit: humans are not accidental monkeys optimized for sex, food, dominance, and genes. That story is a theology of empire, not a complete account of humanity. The older human being is imaginative, religious, empathic, musical, and porous to the divine. Cave paintings are not primitive decoration; they are ritual technologies for restoring the animals, storing memory, and making community. Writing is not simply absent; it is rejected as a corruption of song. Civilization, in this reading, does not awaken the human. It disciplines the human away from intuition, empathy, and divine connection.

### Caves Are Portals, Speech Is Song

The cave paintings are not treated as childish marks. They are adult, deliberate, exact, and devotional. They tell the story of nature: animals, predators, life, death, destruction, renewal.
