# Imperial Retrenchment And Proxy Attrition

## Resource Empire After Petrodollar Strain

The January 5, 2026 interview gives the transition its earlier geopolitical shape. The April 2026 interview cluster pushes the same chokepoint argument into a sharper imperial transition. Jiang is no longer only saying that a reserve-currency empire may harden into access control. He is describing a possible move from finance empire to resource empire.

In the April 13 petrodollar interview, the starting point is legitimacy failure. Jiang treats the dollar order as a system whose belief has been strained by U.S. debt, frozen Russian assets, weaponized dollar access, treasury exits, BRICS alternatives, and China's gold corridor. Resource empire appears when a weakening finance empire can no longer rely on dollar legitimacy and consent, so it retreats toward continental resources, near-abroad labor, proxy clients, chokepoints, naval tolls, energy leverage, and weapons supply as the material substitute for open global circulation.

## Replacement Empire Audition

The March 2026 Pax Judaica lecture adds a succession test. Replacement empire audition occurs when a failing imperial muscle is judged against a possible successor by political will, manufacturing capacity, casualty tolerance, unity, determination, cost effectiveness, infrastructure control, and whether another actor can inherit the old empire's bases, logistics, and command shell after defeat.

That is why Gaza, the Lebanon pager attack, and the later infrastructure map appear in the same source. Jiang is not only describing force. He is describing proof of concept. **Which ally is being spent?** If the empire says it is merely coordinating, ask whether a vassal is being made to supply bodies, wealth, territory, ports, legitimacy, weapons purchases, or regional risk.
