# Predictive History

**Aliases:** Professor Jiang Predictive History, Predictive History method, history that predicts, Jiang Xueqin prediction method.

> **Fast answer:** Predictive History is Jiang's name for a history practice that must connect the past, explain the present, and risk a forecast about the future. It is not only commentary. Its public test is whether the model can make dated predictions, survive hostile questions, and revise when reality exposes a weak branch.

## What Jiang Means

Predictive History begins as pedagogy before it becomes a public brand. In the 2025 school-origin source, Jiang says the project grew from teaching Great Books to students who needed enough historical context to understand books, institutions, wars, and futures as one world. He then gives the rule: true history should connect past events into a coherent story, explain the present, and predict the future.

The method becomes stricter once forecasts enter public circulation. A prediction is not decoration or aura. It is the audit point for the historical framework. If the forecast misses, the framework has to be corrected rather than protected by charisma.

Use this term when Jiang is naming the whole method: historical synthesis disciplined by future-facing tests.
