# Attention Capture

## What Jiang Means

Jiang's attention model begins from consciousness. If consciousness helps make reality, then attention is not a productivity metric. It is the energy by which imagination works.

Capital then becomes a mechanism for extracting that energy. The worker's focus, anxiety, desire, and time can be pointed toward production, consumption, debt, or screen worlds. AI enters as a new attention-directing companion when money loses some of its organizing force.
